    • Media reporting of $900M vs $9M might have affected the short/long positions?
      • Conspiracy Theory: Was the reporting in on it?
    • His thesis might be apparently around difference in reporting on how depreciating assets might work
      • That the Hyperscalers claiming 2x increase in depreciating schedule (artificially?)
    • 2020/2021 is when these schedules started changing (extending)
    • Friedberg checked with friends at folks in some of these places and apparently GPUs/TPUs are still being used 7-8 years later so maybe the schedules ARE correct?
    • Shorting is just somebody’s ability to cry “fire” in a crowded theater - its hard to claim fraud in 2025 for well run public companies

    • Palantir is valued high because its well run AND unique - so there is a lack of credible competitors at least at this point

    • Bill Ackman idea for fixing student loan debt - Universities should under-write the loan - they should be the first line of loss - that will be the tell-tale sign that a lot of these degrees make no sense

    • Giant waves of charged particles - protons and electrons - from the Sun

    • You want to be careful when flying in airplanes during this storm - stay away from higher latitudes typically - north pole flying is turned off usually
    • Might lead to a move from electron based computing to photon based computing - this can help mitigate risks from such events from Geomagnetic storms

    • Great confiscation is hurting America
    • People looking to move to Texas or an international place

What's your favourite Iron Maiden song?

Part of the NWOBHM ( ignoramuses can go ahead and google that :P ), Iron Maiden have rocked for a long time, with many brilliant compositions (yes compositions, as intricately crafted as any symphony you philistines - the cadence of mcbrain's drums, the richness of dickinson's voice, steve harris's incomparable lyrics and I will stop before waxing lyrical about the guitars of Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers....man!). So what is your favourite Iron Maiden song? I ask because frankly I don't think I have one, and I doubt if its possible for me to single any one out. (get it -- "single"? I use it while referring to songs? mmmpff :D, k, never mind) (wrt the inaugural blog post which was in keeping with the spirit of this webpage, I thought I might as well clear the air regarding the only thing meaningful in the whole piece - the title )
